True Solar Time in BaZi

True solar time adjusts civil clock time for longitude and the annual equation of time. Some BaZi practitioners use it; others do not.

01

Clock time is political and social

Time zones, daylight saving and historical boundary changes can make the local clock differ from the Sun’s apparent position.

The birth place therefore matters in addition to the recorded clock time.

Show the setting

Because schools differ, BaziRoute treats true solar time as an explicit setting rather than silently choosing it.

If a birth time is close to a pillar boundary, even a small adjustment may change the Hour Pillar or a day/month boundary.
